Memorial Weekend: New Items

The second sale of the year has begun! And just like the first sale, Memorial Day has a lot of brand new items appearing on the catalog! After all, in those 50 items that will be featured in the sale some of them must be new right?

According to many Roblox official posts there will be many new items such as new wings, new hair, new headphones, new swords. And guess what? They were right! Although there were a lot more than just that. Faces, packages, caps, and plungers could be all seen scattered across the catalog! This article will only be focusing on the normal new items so that don't expect any limiteds here. Interested in learning all the awesome stuff about new items? ROBLOX 'R' Baseball Cap

Imagine a world where you own this baseball cap. Oh - that's this world!

What better way to start a huge sale then with a free hat??? A free hat was announced to be released during the sale via jackintheblox's Twitter and then the next day it was the very first thing to come out for sale. Although at first the ROBLOX 'R' Baseball Cap was unobtainable, five hours after its release it went on sale at the very low price of it being Free. Overall it's a really nice hat with nothing really special. The 'R' looks really nice, the color choice is good, the positioning of the hat allows for a lot of possible hat combos. It's just really nice with nothing special. But that's exactly what a free hat should be. It's nice looking but not too special. Recently Roblox has been getting better at doing this with free hats. NBC people should be happy with this although I would understand if they would want a little Robux since there has been less than 30 hats that are free out of the thousand of hats that cost Robux. But back to the hat, well if nothing is bad about it then it's a good hat. It's as simple as that.
Side note: For the five hours of it being not obtainable the description was the best troll: "Imagine a world where you own this baseball cap."

Sword of Epicredness

Click to slash, dealing 16 to 22 damage. Hit the 'Q' key, to shoot red flames out in all directions, which will slow your enemies and deal 25 additional damage! The sword sends out an explosive neon red orb from its center which quickly expands and explodes. Anybody caught in the explosion is dealt 40 damage.

Roblox promised new swords and it delivered. The next item to come out was the Sword of Epicredness with a price tag of 500 Robux. Now this sword is part of the Sword of the Epic[insert color]ness. There is only one other version so far and the Epicredness shares a lot of the attacks with it. Epicblueness and Epicredness both do 16 to 22 damage while slashing and both shoot flames when 'Q' is pressed that do 25 damage. The attack similarities end there. Both though, have the same price tag, same animations, and both have fire particles in-game. Epicredness though is the more powerful melee one here. Although I think Epicblueness looks better and sleeker the Epicredness is OP (OP if both you're not allowed to use Q Attacks). For 500 Robux you basically get a 1 hit kill sword. This is because of its second attack. It sends out an explosive red neon orb that finishes whatever job you're slashing damage couldn't. Here's the catch though, even though both gears say their Q attack do 25 damage the Epicblueness' Q attack is an insta-kill while Epicredness' would take 4-5 hits. This is because blue flames do more burn damage. So here it is, I gave you both pros and cons. Now you have to decide which one to buy. Either way, 500 Robux for these swords is an amazingly low price!

Red Charmer

Hair as red as the Sedona rocks. Charming as the day is long.

There's a pattern to the Charmer hair prices. Most common hair color is Free. Not so common hair colors are 75 Robux (Ravenhaired is not black, it is blueish black). Dyed neon hair is 125 Robux. Well based on this info who can guess how much the Red Charmer is? 125 Robux is correct! Yep this is part of the Neon Charmer series even though the description is misleading. The description says it's as red as the Sedona Rocks, well this red is nothing like that. The only time you can find this kind of red in nature is when you see ladybugs and when you bleed. Sedona Rocks are pale red-brown. See, this is why I don't like geographical comparisons. Nothing is ever as bright as they say it is. But anyway besides that random thing that bugs me way more than it should, the hair is fine. It's everything that you expect hair to be, except it's red. So if you like red you know exactly what your next purchase will be.

Blue Buddy Baseball Cap

Buddy continues to tell it how it is.

I never really understood why so many people bought the original Buddy Baseball Cap. Well now there's a new blue version and I still don't understand. The Blue Buddy Baseball Cap is exactly the same as the normal buddy cap and costs the exact same, 25 Robux, except that it is fully blue. You still wear it backwards and you still have your eyes covered (I tried many faces, none were successfully not covered). The texture is ok but I still don't like the seam that connects the "bill" to the round part. For me it just seems to high up. But also another thing is that blue just doesn't look good on this hat. The red version looks better for some reason. Some things are hard to explain and the buddy cap being better looking in red is just one of them. If you really want a cap then get a Flipped Bill Skater Cap. It's 20 Robux cheaper and it clearly won't cover your eyes. However this cap does have one positive side. The description is funny. The original buddy cap says that Buddy always tells it how it is and this version says that he still does. It's not crying-on-the-floor funny but it's funny. Or maybe I just have a terrible sense of humor.

Pink & Purple Equinox

Got two favorite colors- now you don't have to decide! This makes more sense than the Cyan Equinox at least...

The very first day ended with a bunch of color themed hats. The last hat to come out was the Pink & Purple Equinox that cost 250 Robux. This hair piece is another addition to the widely popular Equinox hair series. And this time the new addition has the color scheme of a proper Equinox hairdo, it has two sides! And that is actually really rare for an Equinox hair to have. Of the 7 hairs there are only 3 (including this one) that have two sides. But wait! There's more! It also has one more rare thing up it's sleeve. It's one of the rare items to have a symbol in it's name! I know these are useless facts but someone might find them interesting or even helpful... Well anyway, 250 Robux was also the cost of an Easter Basket that gave out a really similar version of the hair called the Violet Equinox. As the name suggests they are violet, no two halves just one single color. And because the newer version has two colors and the colors are brighter, it is better in my opinion. Although this version has no hair strand texture. One last thing, The hat fits well on your head. It is huge though and leaves no room for any easy to make good hat combos.

Goldlika: Beast

Like a beast.

At first it was President's Day, then it was random kinda popular item weekend, and now it happened on Memorial Day. There's a brand new addition to the Goldlika series (sorry Rustlika, you're just a wannabe). Joining its Boss and Troll brothers is the Goldlika: Beast that cost an astonishing 25,000 Robux! The pattern is that every Goldlika costs 5,00 Robux more. Which is a lot just for a necklace! However, with that necklace comes the joy of owning one of the rarest items on Roblox. Every Glodlika is decreasing in sales (not as much as you would think though) and this one ranked up 38 sales after its 3 hour timer ended. If you count only non-limited items, it is the sixth rarest hat (hats that could've been bought, no one knows for sure how many owners there are of redeemable hats so there could be rarer hats out there). There is no point talking about appearance but if you must then this necklace actually breaks the long chain (PUNS!) of necklaces being way too small and ending up being inside your chest! It actually looks pretty cool and is visible! And also it looks a lot better than GoldLika: Troll. Less thicker necklaces are a lot better.
Price is a bit overkill but who doesn't want to be a beast every now and then?

Supe-R Hero Cape

You are super. You are ROBLOX. You are a hero. This cape's for you.

For a game that's been around for at least 10 years there is a surprisingly little amount of superhero items on Roblox, especially in the recent 1-2 years. Well Roblox is going to change this one hat at a time! Starting with the super cool Supe-R Hero Cape that costs only 200 Robux (the price had to be reduced because of the pun). But, that means it's better for us! This cape is a hat version of the popular cape gear. And that is absolutely fantastic! The gear was really great looking and the fact that most games banned it made it useless. Well now we can all be stylish in all games that allow you to keep your own character. And also unlike the other capes this actually has a connector that goes around your neck! Something really minor but really important! With this kind of kind of attributes this hat is basically a steal! Go buy it now!

Epic Golden Sword and Shield

Click to swing dealing 15 to 22 damage; double click to spin-dash at your opponent while on fire!

Let me just say, like I usually do, that gears are banned in most games and therefore useless. They are just used as decorative pieces in your inventory or in those gear war games were you can show your NBC friend in how many ways you can kill him/her. Well if any gear deserves to adorn your inventory its the Epic Golden Sword and Shield. For 750 Robux you get a pretty nice looking sword and shield but so much more at the same time! Another terrific 1 hit kill weapon! From my magical and terrible scripting reading, the shield doesn't actually reduce damage though. But instead when you double click you get to levitate horizontally and then spin around on fire going forward until you hit an enemy. Or in a simpler and much better explained way, this is a fire spin-dash attack. You become a rotating human fire death missile. Worthy of its Epic in the name and worthy of collecting dust in your inventory!

Golden Sparkling Wings

Livin' the golden sparkle life.

It wouldn't be a sale without one gold item, or three for that matter. Therefore, naturally the last thing to come out on the second day was the Golden Sparkling Wings. And if you had to think of something that was way overpriced on Roblox, this sure would be it. It cost 2,000 Robux and was set on a 12 hour timer. Therefore, a lot of people bought this just for the timer instead of buying it because it looks cool. Don't lie to me, whoever you are. But in case you were wondering, they are cool. They are big, gold, and they sparkle. Everybody loves a good sparkle here and there. The only thing that I can find to whine about, is that the wings are too round. Make the wings more pointy but still retain the spread wing look and you have yourself the best wings on Roblox! But maybe decrease the price by about 1,000 Robux just for good measure.

Deadly Laser Vision Polar Bear Mount

Rideable polar bear that shoots deadly laser beams out of his eyes. Hop on his back and use 'W', 'A', 'S', 'D', or the arrow keys to move around. Click to shoot deadly lasers from the polar bears eyes. If hit, your opponent will take 40-70 points of damage. Disclaimer- this is not a real polar bear. No polar bears were harmed in the making of this virtual polar bear robot. Please do not attempt to ride polar bears irl. Please do not attempt to attach lasers to real polar bears. Does not require batteries. Is virtual. Is subject to additional disclaimers in very small print below the bottom of this visible text. Not really though. If you meet a polar bear - please be cool and don't approach it. This is actually good advice for pretty much any bear.

A brand new day and a fresh new start. And at the same, the third day of a huge epic sale! It first started as a day with items going limited and a new limited popped up as well. The first item to go on sale that wasn't a limited and was brand new, was the Deadly Laser Vision Polar Bear Mount gear. And fittingly it has a long description to match its long name. This is because, for the first time in forever, the gear description includes more than just what the gear does! And how much does this rare attribute gear item cost? A lot, 1,250 Robux to be exact. That's a bit too much for this gear. It doesn't work until you ride it and then it's a really slow ride. When you click on a player the bear will shoot lasers out of its eyes with some cool sound effects and then eventually kill the other player with around 2-3 shots. When you kill a player their body will turn into gray and black blocks (symbolizing ashes I'm guessing). That's it. A solid gear that at maximum should've been priced at 750. But we all know that 500 would be a way better price though.

Shaggy 2.0

Shaggy now, shaggy forever! Shaggy 2.0!

A sale is never truly a sale without a shaggy involved in it in some kind of way. And what better way to follow this trend than releasing a brand new and cheap successor to the original shaggy? That's right! Shaggy 2.0 has arrived and it's only 5 Robux! It's not really that great but I'm sure there's a lot of people who will want to buy it for one reason or another. I'm not one of those people but I mostly don't judge. However, if you buy it because you want it to go limited then you are wasting your 5 Robux. I assure you this will not go limited anytime soon. Otherwise, it's simply a more HD version of the original. This time though, the hair fully covers one eye instead of just slightly. Which might get a little annoying at times and make you look a little emo/goth (please don't get mad at me, I don't know the difference). On a sadder note, no LMaD, it isn't purple, rainbow, crimson, neon pink, pastel rainbow, midnight blue, red & blue & white, or lime green. Sorry.

Plunger Swordpack

Some jobs call for plungers, some jobs call for swords. Both call for swordpacks. Every job is cool if you want it to be.

I know I'm starting to get annoying with this whole 'what sales need' thing but bear with me. Like I've said before, every sale needs a golden item and a shaggy. Well, another key ingredient is a big limited and a swordpack. It's just a must. And even though this isn't really a swordpack, it has 'swordpack' in the name and therefore it must be a swordpack! Logic! The Plunger Swordpack is the hat I'm talking about, of course. And its price of 150 Robux is on the lower spectrum of the swordpack prices. Which is good! But there's something about plungers being a swordpack that just doesn't mix. Cool idea, but not really something people want. It fits well on your character and is exactly what you expect it to be. After countless theories of why it doesn't look so good I came up with these two: it's a plunger, the inside of the plunger is too dark. It's a cool hat but something about it just doesn't seem right.
Side note: On the bright side though, this means it will be one of the rarer swordpacks out there.
